Learning with Lenny

The learning journey continues with Lenny's podcast - a must try for any aspiring or experienced PM 

I was only introduced to Lenny's Product podcast a few months ago. Thank you, Sagar Premkumar! I listened to his conversation with Shreyas Doshi and I was hooked. 

What I loved about the podcast was the sharing of practical tips and relevant nuggets of experience, distilled into usable frameworks. For example, a pre-mortem is an amazing tactic that Shreyas deployed during his time at Stripe to predict and prevent problems. Instead of just brainstorming problems that may arise during product development, a pre-mortem makes the team visualize the very end, when the product has failed. It allows the team to backtrack the reasons that caused the failure, leading to an open, fruitful conversation and preparing the team for the worst possible scenario. In his words, "If you do the pre-mortem right, you will not have to do an ugly post-mortem." 

Lenny has released more than 400 episodes of his podcast. I'd be lying if I said that I found every conversation (that I listened to) as enlightening as the one with Shreyas. But there is so much knowledge captured in those hours of content. Lenny has been a godsend in these uncertain times. I highly recommend signing up for his newsletter and, at the very least, tuning in to his weekly podcast to learn more about the complex and ever-changing world of product management.
